Former State Minister for Peace and UML leader Dilli Mahat has died while receiving treatment in Kathmandu, the party said in a statement on Wednesday.
The UML central committee member was suffering from high blood pressure. Mahat, who was admitted to Karnali Academy of Health Sciences in Jumla, was flown to Kathmandu on Monday for treatment. He breathed his last at around 11.20 am on Wednesday this while undergoing treatment at Manmohan Memorial Hospital.
UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said he was shocked by the news and said Mahat's demise was a loss for the entire nation.
On Monday, UML had formed a support committee to manage resources for Mahat and senior leader KP Oli, who is receiving treatment in India. nepalnews.com
