Prez Yadav, Koirala discuss current political situation

President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala met on Wednesday discussing current political situation of the country.

The meeting held at the president's official residence at Sheetal Niwas dwelt on election and budget.

Emerging from the meeting, NC president Koirala said that President Yadav stressed on consensus before introducing the budget.

“Bringing budget through ordinance is against the democratic norms, So consensus should be forged soon,” Koirala quoted the President as saying.

Koirala also urged President Yadav not to approve the budget- related ordinances until the parties reach an understanding for the same.

The President has been holding series of meetings with political leaders seeking consensus among the parties to end political deadlock facing the country after the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly without completing its task-promulgation of new constitution. nepalnews.com
