Govt announces fresh polls; presents budget ordinance to Prez
The government on Tuesday announced fresh Constituent Assembly elections in the month of Baisakh (April-May) next year, and submitted a budget ordinance to the president for approval.
A Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday afternoon had taken the decision to this effect. However the date of the elections has not been determined yet and will be fixed after consultation with political parties.
"We have presented the ordinance to the President. We are confident that the President will approve it," said Finance Minister Barshaman Pun.
Likewise, the government has also decided to forward the budget ordinance of Rs 300.64 billion for fiscal year 2069/70 to the president for endorsement.
The meeting has also decided to extend the tenure of the Special Committee for Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of former Maoist combatants by one month. Its tenure expires on November 14. nepalnews.com
