KTM District Senior Cricket Selection Tournament 2012 kicks off
The Kathmandu District Senior Cricket Selection Tournament 2012 kicked off on Tuesday with Mahavir Club defeating Youth Cricket Club by 281 runs in the inaugural match played at TU Ground, Kirtipur.
In the first inning, Mahavir set a formidable target of 341 runs in 40 overs with the loss of four wickets. Nazir Sheikh scored highest of 132 runs off 126 balls, Monir Kumar Shrestha 87 runs off 74 balls and Pritam Shrestha 25 runs off 17 balls.
Youth Club were restricted just to 60 runs in 17.4 overs while chasing the target as Mahavir’s Rohit Sharma took three wickets while Kalam Ali and Prafulla Vaidya took two wickets each.
The 12 teams participating in the tournament are: Mahabir Club, Yuouth Cricket Club and Nawa Jagaruk Youth Club are in Group A; Baluwatar Cricket Club, New Vision Club and Orbit Cricket Club in Group B; Dillibazar Boys Club, South West Cricket Club and Pharping Cricket Club in Group C; Nepali Cricket Fan Club (N.C.F.C), Kathmandu Khel Mandal (K.K.M/N.R.T) and Ktm Cricket Training Center in Group D. nepalnews.com
