GAESO begins funeral rites for 60,000 Gurkha soldiers
Funeral rites for 60,000 Gurkha soldiers who died serving the British empire in the two world wars is being held from Tuesday, the Gurkha Army Ex-Servicemen's Organisation has said.
The three-day programme is being organised on the banks of the Fedikhola in Lamjung.
Around 60,000 Gurkhas were killed during the two great wars. The British Empire has neither honoured them nor given relief to their families, says GAESO.
It said the event is being organised to pray for the Gurkhas' souls so that they may rest in peace. nepalnews.com
