Hearing on writ filed challenging president’s delays in approving various ordinances today
A hearing is being conducted on a writ petition in the Supreme Court of Nepal on Wednesday challenging President Ram Baran Yadav’s delays in endorsing various ordinances forwarded by the government.
Advocate Uddhav Prasad Chaulagai had moved the Supreme Court on Tuesday claiming the president of making excuses and dillydallying to approve the ordinances for Nepal Health Service (fourth amendment) Ordinance, 2012, Education Service (Eight amendment) Ordinance 2012, ordinance for the formation of Truth and Reconciliation, Disappearance commission, and Civil Service (third amendment) Ordinance, 2012.
President Yadav, who had rejected these ordinances citing technical grounds, and the ministry of law and justice have been made defendants in the petition. nepalnews.com
