NC ready to address indigenous leaders' demands
Nepali Congress has decided to address the demands raised by the leaders representing indigenous community.
The NC office bearers' meeting held at party president Sushil Koirala's residence in Maharajgunj concluded that the demands of the indigenous leaders to ensure federalism based on ethnicity and rights to the indigenous nationalities was genuine.
Emerging from the meeting, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba said that they decided to address the demands of indigenous leaders recognising the issues raised by them after holding further discussions in the party.
Meanwhile, a committee formed under the coordination of Central Working Committee member Bhim Bahadur Tamang has submitted a report on the demands of indigenous leaders to party president Sushil Koirala.
The NC leaders are scheduled to meet tomorrow to discuss on the report. nepalnews.com
