Eastern regional conference on security kicks off
An Eastern Regional Conference on Security organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs has started today.
Chief District Officers of 16 districts of the eastern region and regional and district chiefs of the security bodies have been participating in the two-day conference, according to state-owned news agency RSS.
Inaugurating the conference, Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Nabin Kumar Ghimire, described security system as complex and directed the security bodies to fulfill their duty efficiently.
Ghimire also said that the government will not compromise with anyone on the issues of law and order.
District-level reports on security situation will be presented at the conference.
The conference will also discuss on different issues including peace and order, controlling of untoward activities of armed and ethnic groups, arrangement of essential services, and end to impunity.
Present in the conference are Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kuber Singh Rana, IGP of the Armed Police Force, Koshraj Wanta and National Investigation Department, Moti Gurung. nepalnews.com
