CPN (UML) chairman Jhala Nath Khanal |
CPN (UML) chairman Jhala Nath Khanal on Thursday said his party is now ready to wage nationwide protests and demonstrations to pull down the
current Maoist-led government in order to pave the way for a national consensus government. He said preparation for the same has now been
completed.
Speaking at a press conference organised at the UML party headquarters in Balkhu Thursday afternoon to inform about the mass protest the party is organising from Friday, he claimed that since the ruling UCPN (Maoist) party has done little to do away with the crisis of confidence and mistrust that exists among the parties, an enabling atmosphere for forging political consensus to end the prevalent political deadlock has not been formed.
He, however, said the party will continue to hold talks with other political parties to find ways to end the crisis facing the country even
while waging a nationwide protest movement to remove the current government.
Khanal claimed that those who are in favour of democracy, peace, national unity, and constitution from the Constituent Assembly have shown their full solidarity and support to UML’s nationwide protests. Nepalnews.com
