Jomsom Airport plane skids off runway

A small aircraft of Nepal Airlines bound for Pokhara skidded off the runway at Jomsom Airport in Mustang district on Friday morning.

Police said the aircraft’s wheels broke while taking off at Jomsom Airport this morning, which made it veer off the runway. Although it is not clear what damaged the wheels, but reports said the runway has few potholes and that is believed to have caused the minor accident.

Normal flights resumed only after the aircraft was towed away with the help of Nepal Army and Nepal Police personnel. It is learnt that there was not much damage to the aircraft, but it is being examined by Nepal Airlines officials.

All the passengers including the crew members safely disembarked from the aircraft. They have not suffered any trauma or injuries. Nepalnews.com
