In a bid to find common ground among the major political parties to end protracted political deadlock facing the country, the UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has intensified parleys with the leaders in the opposition bloc following his meeting with President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Thursday.
Dahal who held discussion with Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala on Friday is scheduled to meet with CPN-UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal today at 9.00 am this morning, according to Dahal's personal secretariat.
In the meeting, the two leaders are expected to discuss on the possibilities of forging political consensus within mid-October. "Chairman Dahal will present proposal on behalf of the party about forging consensus including formation of new government," said a source.
NC president Koirala and Dahal had agreed to make efforts to reach an understanding on national unity government within mid-October in the meeting that took place at Koirala's Maharajgunj residence yesterday. Nepalnews.com
