EC makes parties aware of transparency
The Election Commission (EC) has asked the political parties to maintain financial transparency.
Organising an interaction on management of income and expenditure of the parties by enabling participation of accounts in-charges of the 93 parties registered at the commission on Friday, the EC asked them to make their parties' accounts of income and expenditure transparent.
The political parties should submit an annual report of income and expenditure within the six months of the end of a fiscal year as per the Political Parties Act- 2058 BS.
Acting Chief Election Commissioner of EC, Nil Kantha Upreti informed about the reform process as an election management body and the future strategy of the EC.
