Nepal taste first ever cricket defeat from Kuwait
Nepal lost to Kuwait by four wickets in their second Group 'B' match of the ACC Elite Trophy UAE 2012 played at Al Dhaid Stadium in Dubai on Saturday.
Kuwait chased the 281-run target Nepal had presented to them in 46.2 overs. Electing to bat first, the Nepal had mustered 280 runs losing 4 wickets in 50 overs.
In his first international century skipper Paras Khadka scored not-out 106 runs off 77 balls. Ganendra Malla and opener Subash Khakurel contributed 63 and 45 runs respectively.
This was Kuwait's first ever victory over Nepal. They were defeated by Nepal in four ACC Trophy Elite Cup matches and a World Qualifier-II match in 2005 in Malaysia. Nepal had also defeated Kuwait in two Twenty20 matches.
In the opening match of Elite Cup on Wednesday, Nepal had defeated host United Arab Emirates (UAE) by four wickets. nepalnews.com
