'Constable helped smuggle foreign currency'

A police constable was abating the Indian national held with illegal foreign currency at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Saturday, officials said.

Head Constable Sovit Kark had helped Binod Kumar Soni clear security at the airport and handed him the money in the toilet, police revealed.

Soni (35), who was arrested with a bag containing foreign currency worth Rs 12.4 million, has been kept at Metropolitan Police Range in Hanumandhoka. Karki is on the run. Nepalnews.com
