The series of talks between the TAAN and All Nepal Tourism Workers’ Union, Nepal Trekking-Travel-Rafting Workers Union and Nepal Tourism Workers’ Union have recently also decided to form Trekking Workers Welfare Fund depositing Rs. 5 million.

Likewise, they are also set to request the government and the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) to deposit additional Rs 5 million in the fund from the TIMS Joint Fund. Both the sides have also agreed to forward proposal to include representatives of workers’ unions in the TIMS Taskforce to the TAAN executive committee.

As per the agreement between the two sides, TAAN will collect list of workers from its member agencies as per the agreement signed between the government and trade unions under the Social Security Fund.
