Two Nepali activists honoured with UN peace award
Two peace activists from Nepal have been honored on Tuesday with the United Nations Development Program’s Engage for Peace, Equality, Access, Community and Empowerment (N-PEACE) Awards in Manila.
Peace activist Radha Paudel, who is the founder and president of Action Works Nepal and Sadhu Ram Sapkota, joint secretary at the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction were among eight Asian peace activists who were honored with N-PEACE award.
The N-PEACE award is part of the UNDP's advocacy campaign to recognise the contributions of women in peace-building in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, Nepal, Afghanistan and the Philippine. The Award for Sapkota was the special N-PEACE prize for men who advocate for Equality. nepalnews.com
