Judiciary ‘unconcerned’ over political parties bid to reinstate CA
Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi on Tuesday said judiciary has no concern over the initiatives taken by political parties to resurrect the defunct Constituent Assembly (CA) against the decision of the Supreme Court.
Talking to journalists at Tribhuvan International Airport upon his arrival after his five-day long visit to Bhutan at the invitation of Bhutanese Chief Justice Lynpo Sonam Tobgye, Regmi said it is better that judiciary remain silent over this as it has to act as a guardian of the constitution and take decisions keeping the best interest of the public in mind.
Regmi was in Bhutan from October 5 to 9 to share experiences of the legal system of Nepal. He said he was greatly influenced by the efforts of the Bhutanese court to finalise any cases within a year of their registration. Nepalnews.com
