UCPN (M) gears up for general convention

UCPN (Maoist) is giving final touches to the party's action plan to conduct its general convention in January.

UCPN (M) office bearers and organisation department members, who met in Baluwatar on Wednesday, dwelt on the action plan to hold the general convention in a smooth way.

Participants of the meeting agreed to organise local conventions to choose representatives for the general convention on the basis of proportional and inclusive representation.

The UCPN (M), which has not organised its general convention in over two decades, is set to hold the event from January 27. The action plan will be finailsed by the party headquarters on Thursday, said Agni Sapkota, spokesperson for the party.

The meeting also decided to keep the option of reviving the dissolved Constituent Assembly open during talks with other parties. nepalnews.com
