Business community urges parties to reach consensus on economic agendas

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has urged the main political parties to forge consensus on minimum economic agendas and introduce a full-fledged budget for the smooth economic development.

During separate meetings of FNCCI delegation led by federation’s president Suraj Vaidya on Tuesday with UCPN (Maoist) chairman Puspa Komal Dahal, NC president Susil Koirala and CPN-Maoist chairman Mohan Vaidya, the FNCCI delegation discussed issues regarding the lack of full budget that has been hindering the development works and economy, said FNCCI in a press statement issued on Wednesday.

The delegation also urged the leaders to create favourable environment for the private sector to operate their business smoothly. The FNCCI delegation also emphasised that forming a consensus government could create a better business environment.

During the meeting with Baidya, the delegation also urged the party not to engage in intimidating activities that affect directly the trade and transportation.

During the separate meetings, Dhahal and Koirala also expressed their commitment for the economic development of the country. nepalnews.com
