CPN-M lifts ban on screening of Hindi movies in Nepal
CPN-M has lifted its ban on screening of Hindi movies in movie halls across Nepal from Thursday in view of the upcoming Dashain and Tihar festivals.
With the relaxation of the ban, cinema halls across the country are expected to resume the screening of Hindi films after a ten days hiatus.
The Mohan Baidya-led CPN-M had declared a ban on screening of "vulgar Indian movies" all over Nepal from October 1. It blamed the Indian films of “defaming and disrespecting” Nepal and Nepalis, and also promoting obscenity and spreading “cultural pollution”. nepalnews.com
