Olympian duo Shrestha, Rana clinch 10m Air Rifle title

Olympian duo Tika Ram Shrestha of Sunsari and Sneh Rajya Laxmi Rana of Rupandehi clinched gold medals in the Nationwide Open Shooting Championship on Wednesday.

Shrestha won gold in men’s 10m Air Rifle and Rana in women’s 10m Air Rifle event held at the International Sports Complex shooting range.

Olympian Shrestha scored 657 points of the out of 700 ahead of Nepal Army’s Krishna Ghorasaini 652 points while Nepal Police’s Hari Bahadur Thapa secured third position with 644 points.

Similarly, Rana scored 480 points to claim the title ahead of Nepal Police’s Phoolmaya Kyapchaki while Durga Sinjali claimed third position with 468 points.

Likewise, Nepal Army Kuber KC clinched gold in the men´s 10m air pistol with 640 points while Sudan Khadka claimed second with 639 points and Bivek Raj Dhungel secure third position with 624 points.

In the women´s 10m air pistol, Nepali Police’s Saraswati Bania clinched the title with 439 points while Shreya KC of Baglung secured second with 438 points and Nepal Police’s Seema Tuladhar third with 433 points.

All the top three winners received Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7,000 and Rs. 5,000 each respectively. nepalnews.com
