Maitighar-Bhadrakali road to open on Monday
The government has decided to open the newly-constructed Maitighar-Bhadrakali road for traffic on Monday.
Traffic congestion around Singha Durbar, the country’s main administrative hub, in the capital is expected to ease with the opening of the road.
According to state-run news agency RSS, the government had provided Rs 4.5 million to the Nepal Army to construct the 618-metre long and 10-metre wide road. The graveled road will, however, be blacktopped only after the Tihar Festival.
Minister for Physical Planning and Works, Transport Management Hridayesh Tripahi on Thursday inspected the road and drew the attention of government and Army officials to precautions to be taken before the road is opened for public use. Nepalnews.com
