PM's political adviser talks of CA revival before Tihar; UML vice chair Bhandari sees conspiracy behind revival bid
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai's political advisor Devendra Poudel has claimed that the Constituent Assembly will be revived before Tihar.
Speaking at the Reporters Club Friday, Poudel said he expected the talks between the parties to intensify in the next few days to reach an understanding on the roadmap by the end of Ashoj (mid-October), as asked the President.
He also said that the CA revival was the "least risky" option available before the parties.
Speaking at the same programme, UML vice chairperson Bidhya Bhandari said the UML was determined to foil the CA reinstatement bid, saying that it is a 'conspiracy' to push the country further back. "Election is the only way out of the crisis," she said.
Likewise, Nepali Congress leader Gopal Man Shrestha maintained that CA revival was not only least risky but the most cost-effective option. "Absence of the CA for the past four months has only benefited the Prime Minister," he said, adding that the election was not going to lead to any solution in the present political climate. nepalnews.com
