Fresh mandate will provide wider legitimacy, says EU
Fresh mandate from the people of Nepal will provide a wider legitimacy to political decision, Delegation of the European Union to Nepal said.
"It is yet not known whether the anticipated 2013 elections will be for a new Constituent Assembly or for a parliament as discussions are still ongoing on a possible revival of the CA. Whatever the exact path taken by the parties, seeking fresh mandate sooner will provide a wider legitimacy to the political decision-making," said a statement issued by diplomatic missions of the EU, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Switzerland and the UK on Friday.
The missions also extended best wishes to Nepali people on the occasion of Dashain festival and expressed solidarity and support to Nepal's quest for peace, democracy and stability. nepalnews.com
