Reinstating CA holds no meaning: NC leader Gurung
Senior leader of Nepali Congress (NC), Kul Bahadur Gurung, has said reinstating the dissolved Constituent Assembly (CA) holds no meaning as the same CA was unable to draft a constitution even during its four-year tenure.
Speaking at an interaction on ‘Nepali Nationality and BP Koirala’ in the capital Saturday, the NC leader also said that it is but childish to think that reinstating the CA would end the political and constitutional crises the country is facing at present.
Gurung also expressed displeasure over the foreign visit of UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at a time when the country is mired in political deadlock. He said Dahal’s foreign trip at a time when the parties should work seriously towards finding a way out of the political stalemate makes it clear that the Maoist party is bent on hindering the politics of consensus.
