NEPSE index plunges
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has plunged by 3.47 points over last week -- during the five trading days from Sunday to Thursday.
The secondary market declined to settle at 424.44 points on Thursday from last Sunday’s 427.90 points.
As per the sub-indices of the secondary market, manufacturing lost 7.78 points, other 16.44 points, hydropower 45.81 points, insurance 3.65 points and development banks 0.29 points. However, hotel posted positive growth by 19.55 points.
Over the week, the secondary stock market traded with 124 companies registering a turnover of Rs. 433.58 million while it had traded with 124 companies registering a turnover of Rs. 302.45 million in the previous week.
Of the total transaction, Group A companies alone contributed Rs. 144.2 million which is 33.28 percent of the total turnover. Nepalnews.com
