Army’s Basnet, APF’s Sintakala win Kathmandu Marathon
Krishna Basnet of Nepal Army won the sixth edition of Real Kathmandu Marathon timing 2:29:40 while Krishneshwori Sintakala of Armed Police Force won the title in women’s category timing 3:26:50.
Similarly, Letter Singh Khatri and Uttam Khatri of Army finished second and third respectively in men’s category while Sonu Rai and Saraswoti Khadka finished second and third in women’s of the Kathmandu Marathon organised in the capital on Saturday.
Likewise, Kalyan Baniya, Raj Kumar Bista and Gyan Prasad Bhattarai of Army are the top three athletes to win men’s half marathon while Bindra Shrestha of APF, Sarita Bashi of Army, Anig Grape from France won in women’s section.
In 5km men’s open, Kiran Kumar Malla, Lal Bahadur Thapa and Moti Lal Chaudhary of Army clinched the title while Kanchi Maya Koju, Geeta Khatri of APF and Rupa Khadka of Army won in 5km women’s open.
Anup Khanal, Raju Shrestha and Anish Shrestha won in 5km high school boys while Sabita Khadka, Sarmila Chetri and Rina Kapali won in girl’s section.
The top three winners in both men´s and women´s marathon bagged Rs.
100,000, Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively. Similarly, other top 10 athletes were also awarded with cash prizes.
