Prime Minister's press adviser Biswodeep Pandey said that during similar visits to villages in the past, local party members had been footing the bills.

"However, this time, we were in a hurry and could not make similar preparations," said Pandey. Bhattarai wanted to provide the sum to the Musahar family before leaving, but he too forgot in the heat of the moment, added Pandey.

The Prime Minister's move comes as media reports said Bisuni Musahar had to borrow Rs 6,000 at a high interest rate to prepare a dinner for the Prime Minister.

PM Bhattarai, who started a campaign to visit villages and interact with the people to seek public views in June this year, had chosen a district in Madhes for his 5th visit under the drive. nepalnews.com
