Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar Tuesday said that Madhesi force should be given opportunity to lead the consensus government if the three major parties—UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress (NC), and CPN (UML) fail to find a common ground on the thorny issues including the leadership in the unity government.
Talking to the journalists at Biratnagar Airport this morning, DPM Gachchhadar said the Madhesi parties would lead the unity government if the major parties keep squabbling for power in the name of consensus.
"Major parties should decide whether to revive the Constituent Assembly or to go for the fresh polls at the earliest," the DPM, who is also the chairman of Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic (MJF-D) added.
He also accused opposition Nepali Congress and CPN-UML of provoking the President to take unconstitutional step to 'overthrow' the government.
The parties are yet to take a collective decision regarding the fate of the dissolved CA as the talks on the possible option of going for fresh elections are on among the parties. Nepalnews.com
