NFC starts selling he-goats
Nepal Food Corporation (NFC) has started selling he-goats in the Kathmandu Valley to ease supply of meat during the Dashain festival from Tuesday.
The Corporation has targeted to supply around 3,000 goats brought from various districts, in the valley. The NFC had supplied around 2,500 goats last year, according to the NFC. The NFC has already imported some 900 goats till Monday.
The NFC, state owned enterprise, has also aimed to provide goats at cheaper prices to the consumers during the festival discouraging artificial price hike and black marketing.
The corporation had sold the he-goats at Rs. 258 per kg weighing below 25 kg and Rs. 266 per kg weighing above 25 kg, last year. However, NFC is not selling goats weighing below 20 kg. nepalnews.com |
