Mega Bank, HELVETAS sign MoU on entrepreneurship development, employment generation

Mega Bank Nepal Limited and Swiss agency HELVETAS have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to implement joint programmes on entrepreneurship development and employment generation in the agricultural sector covering eight districts - Rautahat, Sharlahi, Bara, Parsa, Banke, Bardiya, Kailali and Kanchanpur.

An agreement to this effect was signed between Mega Bank CEO Anil Keshary and country director of HELVETAS Shiva Prashad Aryal on Wednesday.

As per the agreement, Mega Bank will provide micro credit and other accesses to finance whereas HELVETAS will provide technical services and vocational training to the target group so as to ensure sustainable growth of agro-based enterprises creating self-employment opportunities.

HELVETAS has been implementing ELAM projects in since 2004 in many districts among them Mega Bank has its branches at Hariwan of Sharlahi, Birganj of Parsa, Nepalganj of Banke and Dhangadhi of Kailali from where people can benefit, said the bank. nepalnews.com
