Two die, 24 injured in bus-truck collision in Makwanpur

At least two people died and more than 24 others were injured when a bus they were travelling in met an accident Makwanpur district on Friday morning.

The accident occurred when the bus (Na 2 Kha 90) heading to Dharan from Kathmandu collided head-on with a truck (Na 4 Kha 1233) coming from the opposite direction at Manohari VDC-4.

The deceased have been identified as Basanta Mehta of Sunsari district and Kishwor Kattel of Shankhuwasabha, police said. Both had died on the spot.

The injured which includes drivers of both the bus and truck were taken to various hospitals in Chitwan district. Many among them are receiving treatment under serious condition.

Makwanpur District police said they are investigating the accident. Nepalnews.com
