115 teachers in Gulmi without salaries during Dashain

The Dashain festival for teachers of 16 schools in Gulmi district whose salaries were stopped by the District Education Office (DEO) for failing to have auditing by forming a management committee in time due to political debate became unexciting this year, RSS reports.

The teachers thus affected were 115 as they could not manage expenses for their families during Dashain.

The accounts of such schools not having auditing and not obeying the DEO directives were stopped, DEO Govinda Prasad Aryal told RSS.

The DEO has given a 45-point direction but they have disregarded it.

The schools whose accounts were stopped are three higher secondary schools, three secondaries, two lower secondaries and eight primaries.

No management committees have been formed due to internal political wrangling.

They are among others, Prithvi Higher Secondary School Purkotdaha, Ganesh SS Pipaldhara, Arje Higher Secondary Arje, Janakalyan Higher Secondary Foksing, and Sitapur SS Arlangkot and Laxmipur Secondary Thulo Lumpek.

The lower secondary schools are Saraswoti Lower Secondary Arlangkot, Bhagawati Lower Secondary Paundi, Tugtulakot Primary Khadgakot, Prarambhik Primary Bhurtung, Kalika Primary Anpchaur, Alamdeurali Primary Darlamchaur, Koryang Primary Khadgakot and Janapriya Primary Foksing.

The DEO also stopped bank accounts of other 17 schools which are in the process of adjustment.

The teaching environment is affected among teachers because of political effect on them from political disputes, said teacher of Ganesh SS Pipaldhara, Khadananda Pandey. nepalnews.com
