Road accidents down this Dashain in Ktm
Fewer people lost their life in road accidents in the Valley during this Dashain in contrast to that of last year, RSS reports.
According to the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division, 5 people were killed in separate accidents while 8 were injured critically and 4 others sustained minor injuries in the valley, from October 16 to 25.
As per records, last year, 14 people lost their life in separate road mishaps during Dashain in the Valley.
Similarly, the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division took action against 2,509 people for drunk driving during this period.
“Cases against 15 long-route drivers has been filed under Public Offence Act for drunk driving”, Division Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Pawan Giri told RSS.
The traffic police have claimed that a campaign against the drunk driving is the key reason for decrease in the number of road accidents.
Meanwhile, the number of passengers entering into the capital after the Dashain celebrations is increasing.
As many as 4,709 vehicles entered into the capital via different points in the last 24 hours. nepalnews.com
