Kathmandu Art fest from November 25
The second edition of the Kathmandu International Art festival will be held in the city from November 25 to December 21, the Siddhartha Arts Foundation said in a statement on Sunday.
The event, titled ‘Earth, Body, Mind’ will showcase 92 works of art, 11 performances and 100 artists from 31 countries, the organisers of the non-commercial event said.
"The artworks will highlight the relationship between nature and anthropomorphic forces that have fuelled climate change. Although Nepal is not a major polluter globally, our fragile and unique ecosystem has been the first to suffer from rising temperatures and changes in weather patterns," added the foundation.
Works that are to be exhibited during the festival include paintings, digital prints, photography, new media works, sculpture, installations and performing arts. Events such as symposiums, art performances, a Pecha Kucha gathering, guided tours and screenings have been scheduled over the four-week span. nepalnews.com
