Government decision to shorten workweek hits snag
The Energy Ministry's recommendation to implement a five-day workweek in government offices is highly unlikely to be enforced soon.
The Cabinet recently approved a two-day weekly off — Saturday and Sunday — in all the government offices in a bid to reduce electricity consumption during the dry season.
The Energy Ministry had then written to the Ministry of Home Affairs, urging the latter to issue circulars to government bodies to notify them of the change, scheduled for mid-November. However, such a circular is yet to be issued, said officials at the Energy Ministry. nepalnews.com
