The UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Saturday claimed that the major political parties were close to an agreement for the reinstatement of the dissolved Constituent Assembly instead of holding fresh election.
Talking to the reporters at Janakpur Airport, Dahal also expressed hope that the parties would forge the agreement within two days or so to end current political impasse.
"Today's meeting saw more progress compared to yesterday's meeting," he added, "Though we have an option of fresh election, chance of forging agreement on CA revival is growing,"
Dahal also said if parties fail to reach an understanding to reinstate the CA within a few days, they might go for fresh election.
Responding to the queries of the journalists, he further reiterated that the resignation of Prime Minister Bhattarai alone would not help resolve political deadlock facing the country.
Dahal was in Janakpur to attend a training programme for party cadres. nepalnews.com |
