Passengers stranded in Solu as flights come to halt due to zero visibility

Passengers returning to Kathmandu from Solukhumbu district have been stranded as the flights have been halted since Tuesday due to unfavourable weather condition.

Planes have not taken off since Tuesday from both- Tenzing Hillary Airport and Phaplu Airports of the district, RSS reported.

The flights were brought to a halt due to zero visibility, said Civil Aviation Authority Phaplu ATC officer Kedar Prasad Satyal.

Airway is the only option to travel to Kathmandu from Solukhumbu as the local motor roads are blocked due to the landslides in rainy season. nepalnews.com
