NEPSE index increases by 8.65 points
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has increased by 8.65 points to settle at 405.82 points on Thursday while the index had opened at 397.17 points on Sunday, last week.
As per the sub-indices, except trading group which was negative by 18.24 points all the groups posted positive growth - manufacturing companies, hotels, others, hydropower companies, insurance companies, finance companies and development banks gained 10.59 points, 14.44 points, 31.71 points, 16.23 points, 23.60 points, 0.29 point and 0.22 point, respectively.
Over the last week, the stock market traded with 122 companies registering the turnover of Rs. 365.33 million while it had traded with 117 companies registering the turnover of Rs. 202.3 million in the previous week.
The total transaction has increased by 80.53 percent last week compared to the previous week.
Of the total transaction, Group A companies alone contributed Rs. 168.2 million which is 46.05 percent of the total turnover.
Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) has topped the chart in terms of the highest transaction registering Rs. 84.59 million over last week. Similarly, the bank has also topped the chart in terms of the number of share trading, which was 256,000 units.
Beside BoK, Nepal Telecom, Chilime Hydropower Company, Everest Bank and Butwal Power Company were among the top five companies to have the highest transactions over the week. nepalnews.com |
