One more succumbs to viral fever in Dailekh; death toll reaches 6

A minor died in Lalikanda of Dailekh district after suffering from a serious bout of viral fever Saturday night.

The victim has been identified as Basanta BK, 3, of Goganpani VDC. With this, the number of people who have succumbed to the disease has risen to six in the district.

Five persons have already died in Lalikanda VDC-5 due to viral fever in last two days.

According to Dailekh District Public Health Office, Jaisara Thapa, 56, Ramshila Nepali, 55, and one-year-old Ram Bahadur Thapa died due to the disease on Friday while Bhakta Bahadur Budha, 55 and Bhim Bahadur Thapa, 60, died on Thursday.

According to Chief of the Public Health Office, Dr Sushil Bhandari, they died while being rushed to the hospital for treatment. According to him, they have been informed that more than 200 people in the DVC have fallen ill. nepalnews.com
