ICC World Cricket League: Nepal stun Singapore by five wickets
Nepal defeated Singapore by five wickets in the ongoing Pepsi ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 4 played at Selangor Turf Club, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Monday.
Electing to bat first, Singapore posted a target of 112 runs for Nepal, losing all their wickets in 39.5 overs in their opening match of the tournament.
Nepal’s Amrit Bhattarai alone grabbed four wickets of Singapore while Basanta Regmi took three wickets. Similarly, Sanjam Regmi took two wickets and Shakti Gauchan took a wicket to restrict Singapore at 39.5 overs.
Chasing the target, Nepal scored 112 runs losing five wickets in 24.5 overs with 151 balls remaining. Pradeep Airee made highest score of 34 runs while Gauchan collected18 runs and Gyanendra Malla contributed 12 runs to meet the target.
Singapore’s Anish Edward Param scored highest of 31 runs while Amjad Mahboob scored 16 runs Mulewa Dharmichand 13 runs and Mohammad Shoaib Abdul Razzak scored 10 runs.
Now, Nepal will take on Tanzania on September 4 at Bayuemas Oval, host Malaysia on September 6 at Selangor Turf Club, USA on September 7 at Kinrara Oval and Denmark on September 9 at Kinrara Oval. Nepalnews.com
