Seven Nepali workers die in India landslide
Seven Nepali workers have died in a landslide in Pithoragarh district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand Sunday evening.
The victims, who were from Baitadi district in far-western Nepal, were working in a road construction project when the landslide struck, Ujyaalo FM said quoting the district administration of Darchula.
The deceased have been identified as Bishnuram Bhul, Shyam Bhul, Mandhoj Koli, Santosh Ram Lohar, Ramiram Lohar, Birendra Ram Soni and Jhupram Soni were buried inside the heaps of mud. The area is some 50 km from Darchula district headquarters.
Four other Nepalis working in the same road project were injured in the landslide and are undergoing treatment at the bordering Indian town of Dharchula. nepalnews.com
