Govt passes directives for issuing ID cards to the poor

The government Monday passed the directives on identifying the poor families, who will be provided with identity cards.

A cabinet meeting held in the evening endorsed the directives. Under the directives, the government will distribute ID cards to the poor as part of a plan to provide concessions on the price of basic commodities and some of the state facilities.

In another decision, the cabinet promoted deputy administrator of Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Krishna Prasad Acharya to the post of administrator.

Likewise, the government extended the tenure of Brigadier General Himal Thapa by two years and promoted police Senior Superintendent Surendra Shrestha to Deputy Inspector General. nepalnews.com
