ICC World Cricket League Div 4: Nepal hammer Tanzania by 8 wickets
Nepal secured second consecutive victory defeating Tanzania by eight wickets in the ongoing Pepsi ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 4 tournament played at Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Tuesday.
Electing to bat first, Tanzania posted a paltry target of 83 runs in 31.4 overs, losing all their wickets. Nepal’s captain Paras Khadka alone grabbed four wickets, Basanta Regmi three, Binod Das two and Shakti Gauchan took one wicket to restrict Tanzania just to 82 runs.
Chasing the target, Nepal met the target in 19.4 overs losing two wickets with 182 ball remaining as as Gyanendra Malla made the highest score of 28 runs while Subash Khakurel contributed 20 runs and Khadka scored 15 runs.
Tanzania’s Issa Kikasi scored highest of 33 runs while Benson Mwita contributed 16 runs and Khalil Zulfiqar Rehemtulla scored 11 runs.
On Monday, Nepal defeated Singapore by five wickets in their opening match.
Now, Nepal will take on host Malaysia on September 6 at Selangor Turf Club, USA on September 7 at Kinrara Oval and Denmark on September 9 at Kinrara Oval. nepalnews.com
