UCPN (M) office-bearers meet over dispute on diplomatic conduct

The UCPN (Maoist) office-bearers held meeting on Wednesday over the dispute that cropped up between Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayankaji Shrestha following their Iran visit.

Verbal spat started after DPM Shrestha questioned PM Bhattarai's meeting with his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh on the sideline of 16th summit of Non-aligned Movement (NAM) in Tehran saying that the meeting was against the foreign policy conduct as it was held without consulting any officials of foreign ministry .

In the meeting held at party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's residence in Lazimpat, both leaders are learnt to have voiced their complaints to chairman Dahal regarding the dispute. However, the Maoist party has not disclosed the decision of the meeting. nepalnews.com
