Woman trampled to death by wild elephants

A woman died after being trampled by wild elephants in Rautahat district on Thursday evening.

The victim has been identified as Maiya Devi Majhi, 55, of Rangapur VDC-3, Maira.

She had sustained serious injuries when a herd of three tuskers coming from the nearby forest suddenly charged at her in Brahmatole while she was returning home after working in the fields. She breathed her last while being rushed to the hospital.

On August 1, a man was killed after a wild elephant went on rampage at Budhabare VDC-4 in Jhapa district

In January this year, three women were killed when wild elephants attacked them in Prithvinagar of Jhapa district. nepalnews.com
