Chief Secretary Lila Mani Paudel Friday said that political instability was stifling the efforts to boost the morale of civil servants and make service delivery effective.

Speaking at a programme in Kathmandu on the occasion of Ninth Civil Servants Day, Chief Secretary Paudel said there have been impacts of political instability and inter-party conflicts on civil service sector.

"The practice of criticising other political party in unhealthy way has been adversely affecting bureaucracy," he added.

He also stressed on the need for maintaining transparency in bureaucracy and make civil servants more accountable to the general public.

The Chief Secretary also informed that the government was planning to reform bureaucracy. nepalnews.com
