PM warns of 'stern step' over delay in promulgating of ordinances
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has threatened to take "stern step" if the President rejected the ordinances presented to him by the government for certification.
"Why has the President not certified the ordinances that were passed by the cabinet unanimously?" he questioned while addressing a programme organised by the UCPN (Maoist) in Gurkha on Saturday.
He said the government would take tough steps if the ordinances were not approved. While he did not clarify what that step would be, he went on to warn of stir with the support of the families of the disappeared people if the President blocked the ordinance on establishing a commission to probe the conflict-era disappearances.
According to him, the government would immediately resend the ordinances if the President's office rejected them. nepalnews.com
