Gulmi bus accident victims identified

Police have identified the thirteen people who were killed when a passenger bus met with an accident in Hardineta VDC-6 in Gulmi district on Sunday morning.

The accident occurred when the passenger bus (Lu 1 Kha 5583) heading for Kathmandu from Gulmi skidded off the road and fell into a gorge several hundred meters down while trying to avoid a collision with an oncoming motorcycle after a difficult turn. Eleven passengers died on the spot , while two others died while being rushed to the hospital. Over a dozen others were injured in the incident.

The dead have been identified as Rajan Gautam, Chhamkkala Kunwar, Temlal Pandey, Bishnu Panthi, Niraj Kunwar, Laxmi Khadka, Shri Thapa, Laxmi Khanal, Harikala Aryal, Dev Bahadur Somare, Gana Bahadur Chhetri, Chanda Bhusal and Lal Kumar Shrestha.

Reports said the death toll could rise as some of the injured passengers are in critical condition
