Govt change must before any agreement on CA reinstatement: NC prez

Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala Monday said his party was in favour of fresh election, but hinted that the NC was open to the option of Constituent Assembly's reinstatement.

“The debate on whether to hold elections or reinstate the CA will start only after the current government paves the way for new government,” Koirala said, speaking at a media gathering organised by Nepal Press Union in Baglung.

Koirala also said that the President and the international community should be taken into confidence for CA reinstatement if the parties decide to go for it.

Saying that the Maoists had deceived other parties time and again, the NC president said that no new agreement is possible until the UCPN (Maoist) created an environment of trust. “Prachanda has repeatedly tried to woo me, but I’m not going to give in.” Nepalnews.com
